Carbon Footprint Survey
  • Carbon Footprint Survey

This survey is a way to teach people about the benefits of renewable energy. One of the most threatening issues facing our planet today is climate change. Caused by carbon emissions in the atmosphere, the greenhouse effect traps carbon dioxide in the air and causes our planet to warm over time. These carbon levels are shown in the Keeling Curve, a graph famous for its proof that carbon is what causes global warming. In time, this heat also causes global temperature to rise, melting land and sea ice and causing sea levels to rise. The reason that all this carbon dioxide is being emitted into the atmosphere is because of our popular use of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are what heats your home, powers your cars, and is the most common power source of large factories. This is why people need to learn about renewable energy, so they can purchase it and help the widespread of this new energy that will save our planet. It is believed that by 2050, the U.S will be 100% powered by renewable energy, but this can only happen if everyone plays their part.

  • In 2016 it was found that only 5% of the worlds energy is renewable. Does this number surprise you?

  • In  2010, the U.S found that only 4.2% of the country's energy was renewable, but in 2018 they found that it had risen to 20%. Where do you think we will be in another 10 years? (Percentage wise)
